Certificate III in Individual Support

This qualification reflects the role of workers in the community and/or residential setting who follow an individualised plan to provide person-centred support to people who may require support due to ageing, disability or some other reason. Work involves using discretion and judgement in relation to individual support as well as taking responsibility for own outputs. Workers have a range of factual, technical and procedural knowledge, as well as some theoretical knowledge of the concepts and practices required to provide person-centred support.

Qualification Requirements

In order to successfully complete CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support, learners must complete 13 units, comprising of 7 core units and 6 elective units.

This qualification is delivered over an 26-30 week period.


2 days per week, face to face classroom delivery or 5 days on practical placement.

Entry Requirements

Police clearance is required for practical placement. Discussions will be undertaken with students to ensure suitability.

Work Placement

As part of the course students are required to complete a minimum of 120 hours work placement for certain units of competency in a licensed and registered aged care, home and community, disability or community service organisation. We will work closely with you to plan and prepare this placement which will include arranging a workplace, undertaking a working with children’s check.
