Jobs and Skills WA As the WA economy grows and diversifies, the outlook for jobs is constantly changing. Jobs and Skills WA is designed to ensure that people gain skills that lead to employment in areas required by industry. To do this, Jobs and Skills WA provides a guaranteed, subsidised training place for eligible leaners enrolled in courses that are deemed State priority qualifications, where a training place is available.

Under Jobs and Skills WA guarantee, students decide the course they want to study and ‚Äčtheir training will be subsidised if:

  • The course has been identified as a State priority course;
  • A State Training Provider (formerly TAFE) or a preferred private training provider has a training place available; and
  • The student meets the normal entrance requirements.

Students will also need to meet eligibility criteria.

Participation Equity (for jobseekers only)

To be eligible for the Participation Program, jobseekers must be unemployed or under employed and hold a Newstart card or Youth Allowance card, or have a referral from a job seeker broker.

  • TLI31616 Certificate III in Warehousing (General Institutional Training)
  • CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (Priority Industry Qualification)
  • CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support (Priority Industry Qualification)
